For cost-effectiveness, a card with the SPM website will be used as promotional material for guests of the event.  Printed promotional material for SPM was not cost-effective in the past.

2.) UPDATE ON OCT. EAST COAST SALON EVENT:

3.) UPDATE FROM INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP TEAM:

Ongoing Projects: The newsletter, and the development of a MeetUps template. Our SPM tweetchat’s have been going well and Dave Harlow to seems to be working on a new project with the Policy group.

Reminder to post meeting notes on the SPM wordpress under News section.

CafePress account is set up to use logo on promotional products such as T-Shirts.

Newsletter: need a short summary of SPM’s activities drawn from the notes in the News Section. (Maria Mangicaro will help with this).

4.) VALUE PROPOSITION:

Issues: Challenges SPM faces, distinguishing between a small foundation and a true “membership organization”.  SPM does not have a single agenda and treats all levels equally.  SPM is unique from other organizations.  Current membership profile weighs towards patients; need to increase representation from establishments.  Dilemma is that the view points are different, need to develop messaging points.  Why should someone belong to SPM?

NJ – Pharma is initiating huge customer relationship initiatives.  In order to get Pharma to take an active role in SPM, we need to reach their groups, define how SPM is unique in light of what they are already doing.

Mike – this is a leadership issue, need to get a good explanation of who SPM is, stay focused on a consistent objective.  Marketing background is critically important.

A small group with marketing experience should be working on this.  Perhaps ask a marketing firm to donate their services.  Contact SPM members with marketing background.

An SPM member works for Elderman.
