Since its inception, the Society\u00a0has been an entirely volunteer organization, the only exception being the Managing Editor of our <a href=\"http:\/\/jopm.org\" target=\"_blank\">Journal<\/a>. While this was generally fine in the early days, we have grown and matured substantially. We now have a well-defined strategic plan, a dozen or more initiatives (with dozens more in the wings), hundreds of members, and financial needs that require a renewed emphasis on corporate membership development and new revenue streams.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this, the board has decided to hire an executive\u00a0director\u00a0to complement the energetic volunteers that comprise the Society&#8217;s leadership and members that are leading committees and projects.<\/p>\n<p>While initially this will be a part-time position, we envision the executive\u00a0director becoming the cornerstone of a future professional staff for the organization.<\/p>\n<p>The full job description is <a href=\"http:\/\/participatorymedicine.org\/about\/position-opening-executive-director\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.
