We&#8217;ve documented the progress:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2009: Susannah Fox was on NPR&#8217;s Morning Edition:\u00a0<a title=\"Permanent Link to Participatory medicine and health data rights on NPR\" href=\"https:\/\/participatorymedicine.org\/epatients\/archives\/2009\/11\/participatory-medicine-and-health-data-rights-on-npr.html\" rel=\"bookmark\">Participatory medicine and health data rights on NPR<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 13px;\">2010: <a href=\"https:\/\/participatorymedicine.org\/epatients\/archives\/2010\/02\/participatory-medicine-in-time-magazine.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Time<\/em> reported on<\/a> SPM and patient communities ACOR and PatientsLikeMe<\/span><\/li>\n<li>2011: CBS Evening News <a href=\"https:\/\/participatorymedicine.org\/epatients\/archives\/2011\/02\/practice-variation-and-shared-decision-making-on-cbs-evening-news.html\" target=\"_blank\">reported on Shared Decision Making<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2012: Device data rights activist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-patients.net\/?s=hugo+campos\" target=\"_blank\">Hugo Campos<\/a> has been in print and NPR numerous times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, the next big news: This month for the first time, a local PBS station premieres a program that&#8217;s explicitly about the &#8220;e&#8221; word: <strong>&#8220;My Health Counts: e-Patients&#8221;<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>Produced by WNED Buffalo-Toronto (<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/wnedtv\" target=\"_blank\">@WNEDTV<\/a>), the 30 minute program is hosted by Susan Hunt, who did an extraordinary job. It includes:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An extensive description of participatory medicine<\/li>\n<li>Three e-patient stories &#8211; local resident Tom Dixon&#8217;s, SPM member Lygeia Ricciardi&#8217;s, and mine. (Regular readers know that Lygeia is also the top consumer engagement person at ONC, the IT section of the Department of Health and Human Services, but not all know the e-patient story her husband and she share as parents.)<\/li>\n<li>A &#8220;kitchen counter&#8221; discussion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It premieres Wednesday February 27 at 10 p.m., with reprises at 12:30 pm on Friday,\u00a0March 1 and 3 pm Sunday, March 3.
