Aside from the extraordinary visibility it gives your message, and aside from the validation of your message (the site&#8217;s tagline is &#8220;Ideas worth spreading&#8221;), it means you&#8217;ve gotten\u00a0<em>good at it<\/em>. Not every talk at every TED conference gets featured on the home page.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re thrilled to say that our longtime member Jeanne Pinder of <a href=\"http:\/\/clearhealthcosts.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ClearHealthCosts<\/a> landed squarely on <a href=\"http:\/\/ted.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that home page<\/a> Wednesday, and will stay there through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>After five years of struggle to get the importance of this issue recognized, it&#8217;s been quite a couple of years for Pinder and CHC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2017 the prestigious <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niemanlab.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NiemanLab<\/a> at Harvard&#8217;s Nieman Foundation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niemanlab.org\/2017\/09\/the-internet-hates-secrets-clear-health-costs-works-with-newsrooms-to-bring-healthcare-costs-out-of-hiding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recognized CHC&#8217;s journalistic work in New Orleans<\/a> (with Fox 8&#8217;s Lee Zurick and NOLA.com and the Times-Picayune paper) on the investigative series &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nola.com\/health\/page\/crackingthecode.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cracking the Code.<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>In 2018 the series <a href=\"https:\/\/clearhealthcosts.com\/blog\/2018\/06\/cracking-the-code-wins-a-national-edward-r-murrow-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">won a national Edward R. Murrow award<\/a> for investigative journalism<\/li>\n<li>Also in 2018 they were nominated for the Peabody Award, informally known as the &#8220;broadcast Pulitzer.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Disclosure: in addition to knowing Jeanne through SPM, I&#8217;ve become a friend. But that ain&#8217;t enough to explain the above.
