June 14th Exec Committee Minutes

  1. Seal program update
  2. Castle Connolly that Danny and Alan will be meeting with because they do physician searches
  3. Lenox Hill Project (medical center apart of Long Island Jewish that wants to train their medical students to understand the patient experience better) IHI
    1. 1 year long curriculum is involving IHI but strong SPM identity
    2. Immediate need: Looking at ways to bring in funding (Lenox Hill will match funding we bring in)
    3. Our members are hungry for this information but we need the Strategic Plan finalized
    4. As we talk with groups like Best Doctors Association,  Digital Health Coalition we need to get that strategic plan finalized
    5. Sarah sending out the Doodle
  4. Patient Summit lead by Regina Holiday
    1. Would SPM want to get involved?
    2. Patient scholarship fund for travel scholarships – would SPM be willing to be a partner?
    3. Michael and Sue reached out to Regina about the speaker’s bureau but no conclusion reached
    4. Danny to reach out to Regina
  5. List Serve issues
    1. Illiana and Fred were already looking into new platforms as a small working group when the larger list serve discussion came up
    2. Ozmosis, Google Groups, – final report by next call.
    3. Cost not an issue $240 isn’t a problem – finding a platform that most people are happy with that helps us move forward
    4. new platform will be offered (whatever it is) while keeping the list serve
    5. We’re glad change and discussion is happening around the list serve –  we see this as a difficult but welcomed mark of community growth.
    6. Important that the membership knows that this was an issue even before this became an issue on the listserv and that we want to take action
