Guidelines

The Communication Team is working on a set of guidelines for the listserv and forums.

Seal update

Final technical check of the system is underway. A meeting with Blue Shield of CA will be scheduled to discuss the pilot in the next few weeks.

We will reach out to several members to try the Seal program before we launch. Anyone who has input, please contact Alan Greene.

Membership Drive 

We are embarking on an extensive membership drive to expand our membership among individuals, physicians, caretakers and others. We will reach out to physician organizations, insurers, social networks of patients, show sponsors, to the readers of the Journal, to others in our database who have viewed our website.

Executive Committee member Larry Chu has arranged to offer a free membership to all individuals who register for the MedicineX conference to be held in California in the fall. We will try to collaborate with other show sponsoring organizations for similar arrangements.

In conjunction with the drive we are creating a membership benefits brochure and will put together a membership packet. We welcome input and assistance from all current members in this effort.

Board Retreat

The Society has received a grant of $25,000 for a board retreat.

Elections

We will be seeking nominations for members-at-large to sit on the Society’s Board of Directors.

Executive Director Update

We are getting several media inquiries and need a fast way to respond to those requests.
