Elections-Timelines & On-boarding: 
Joshua Seidman has been elected President; term to begin in September at the next Executive Committee meeting. Nick Dawson has been elected President-Elect for the year 2013-2014. We have three individuals running for member-at-large: Ileana Balcu, Carla Berg and Peggy Zuckerman.
We hope to encourage those individuals who did not win election to take on a director or committee chairperson role and to require each member of our Board to chair a committee. Jonathan Wald has agreed chair the Seal Task force. Other committees we need chairs for include: membership; policy and external relations; finance and fundraising; strategic planning and programming; community building; advocacy and policy; education. These issues will be discussed at the Board retreat.

Director of Development
We currently have nine applicants and have formed a committee to begin the interview process. The committee includes:  Josh Seidman, Nick Dawson, Danny Sands, Sarah Krug, Nancy Finn.

Medicine X
We are completing work on a one page insert for the registration packets and a postcard for our table, and are evaluating buttons. We currently have 215 new members from the Medicine X registrants. We will continue to allow conference attendees to sign up for a free membership until the end of the conference. There will be an update on SPM led by Sarah Krug and an SPM panel at the conference.

Board Retreat
The Board Retreat, funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is scheduled for October 26.
