HIMSS and SPM Participatory Medicine Collaborative Proposal
We have submitted a proposal to HIMSS to develop best practices and guidelines for the emerging world of patient engagement. More specifically this collaborative effort would develop a toolkit to “productize” e-Patient and Participatory Medicine wisdom to inform delivery systems, HIT companies, innovators and policy makers regarding patient engagement.
Internship candidates
We have three applicants for our internship program who Katy will interview on Friday, April 25. She will send recommendations to the Executive Committee and for a second round of interviews. We will also appoint a mentor to work with the intern.
Relationship Map
We continue to aggregate submissions for the relationship map from our members and we will have our member volunteers begin to sort and synthesize the relationship map into quadrants and prioritize these groups. We hope to have a final draft of the relationship map within the next several weeks. The relationship map will become part of our strategic initiatives for moving forward.
Newsletter
We expect to release the second issue of our member e-newsletter next week. It will include a member spotlight and a last appeal for submissions for the relationship map, along with other timely links and announcements.
Member recruitment & retention
We discussed our opportunities for large-scale growth including Scanadu and Consumer Reports opportunities and what we will do to engage these potential members and show them member benefits. It was agreed that we will have new members opt in for the listserve, rather than signing them up automatically.
Ileana proposed that we develop kits for various types of members, e.g. doctors, patients, caretakers and use the forums to get them engaged.
