Development UpdateÂ
Julia has connected with members of the Executive Committee to discuss their projects and priorities. She is working with Sarah Krug to develop a written fundraising strategy. She is working with Nick on a program budget, including corporate initiatives.
Consumer Health Reports
A former member of our Executive Committee and Founder, Jon Lebkowsky, is working with Consumer Health Reports. They have approached the Society for a collaboration. Nick and Julia will explore opportunities with them.
Journal of Participatory Medicine
Danny reported that the meeting with the editors of the Journal went well and everyone that our long term strategy would be to form an umbrella publishing organization for the Society that would encompass our blog, journal, and other interactive tools.  We will continue to publish some peer- reviewed material, along with other types of articles. A small group from the Executive Committee and the journal editorial board will continue these discussions to sketch out what the new Society publishing group would look like.
HIMSS Collaboration
Maryanne Sterling has been appointed as our official patient-caregiver representative on the HIMSS Advisory Council. We will have further discussions with HIMSS about how to harness the collective wisdom of the participatory medicine community for mutual benefit
Membership Recruitment & Retention
There has been a very lively discussion on the listserve about how to expand and retain our membership, initiated by Nick, who will distill this discussion and summarize the key points. We will appoint a membership committee to implement initiatives around membership recruitment and retention, including the development of an introductory packet for new patient members, that could be used for local meet ups as well as new member orientation. We have had requests for more local meet ups. Nancy and Julia will create some guidelines for these meetings,
Relationship map update
Our next step is to send the Google form inviting all of our members to contribute.
Internship ProgramÂ
Katy has sent out a posting to several colleges and three applications have been submitted for a summer intern. Closing date for submission is the 16th of April. Katy will screen the resumes and pass along those she likes, to members of the Executive Committee for their review.
