Hi all,

While November brings a time of momentous change in our country, on a much smaller scale, I want to mark some notable events the Society can feel good about and celebrate!

  • The Board approved a new technology platform to simplify and improve the member-experience, such as by making it easier for members to find archived conversations on the List-serv.
  • Much appreciation goes to Tracy Zervakis, Peter Elias, and Dave deBronkart for spearheading this work. Now the fun begins – to start planning and implementing the new platform for use in 2017.
  • Another initiative, the Learning Exchange, marked a milestone with its first webinar, hosted by Sarah Krug and now available online at: https://www.youtube.com/S4PM . Many thanks to Sarah for leading the work on this over the past months.
  • The Board will attend a planning retreat on November 19. Many of us will meet in person, and some virtually, to discuss the year ahead.
  • The Society had excellent visibility and turnout for the sponsored reception at the Connected Health Symposium in Boston in October, and will also be represented at the AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association) meeting in Chicago November 12-16.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and thank you for your membership and support of the SPM.

Sincerely,
-Jon
