How to move forward w/o Danny.  Resources?  Who?  How?

When D. started he invited others who could help.  Decided on quarterly newsletter.  Use NL for networking (Who’s New?  Who’s published?  Something fun?  Stray news).  No assignment would be borne by only one person. Developed features and assigned leads.  Editor’s work was to assign projects and setup.  Very little nagging from editor. Feature writing most difficult, but not for lack of subject matter.  Jan agreed to create job description.

Membership increased by one last month.

Update available online.  Joe says the 5 “asks” are most important.

 

Manifesto                                                                   Judy and Burt

Denotes who we are.  The five areas we will focus on.  The “I will” statement.  See Manifesto online.  Heather sending out PR notice next week.  Manifesto will be introduced at this year’s conference.  Will see it on banners around conference floor.  Burt suggests that Board members record iPhone videos making their “I will” statement

 

Signature Initiative                                                   Jan Oldenburg

Available online.  There will be a Town Hall on 9/24.  Goal is to come back with names of people who will work on signature initiatives (see Open Forum thread).  Want to involve people not currently members of SPM.  Plan to resolve initiative by end of 2019.

 

Transparency                                                                         Sands

Asks whether Board think it’s OK to open our meetings to Forum members.  Would like a 6-month trial.

 

Mitchell Fund                                                                         Sands

How we plan to spend our money.  Have already decided to hire a professional associate
