Elections (determined by the by-laws)

There will be two separate elections voted by the Executive Committee. They will be tiered to enable the individual not elected President to run for President-elect position.

Election for President for the term 2013-2014 Candidates:  Nick Dawson and Joshua Seidman resume and personal statements included with the ballot. Voting Deadline Date: August 9

Election for President – Elect, Term: Sept. 2013-2014 to assume Presidency in September 2014. Several interested candidates, Voting Deadline August 16

Two Members-at-Large voted by the entire SPM membership, deadline August 23.

All candidates for office will be asked to take an active role/directorship leading a committee or Society initiative.

Board of Directors

Chairman Alan Greene will be rotating off the Board as Chairman. The new chairman will be appointed by the Board per the by-laws.

Board Retreat:

The Board Retreat is tentatively Scheduled for October 26, in Boston, following the Connected Health Conference. It will be a day-long event.

MedicineX

Through the generosity of Larry Chu, the Society will gain new members from Medicine X registrants. New member materials will be handed out to them at registration. We hope to have a video booth where people can talk about their participatory medicine experiences. At the meeting, Sarah Krug and Alan Greene will hold a special session to provide an update on the latest events and happenings with SPM.
