Review of Initiatives
ONC class on participatory medicine, Peter Elias.

This is an introductory lecture and part of a series that ONC will sponsor for people interested in Health IT and healthcare careers.  Introduction to participatory Engagement, draft and slide deck will go out 4/6.  SPM will receive recognition for preparing this course outline.
Internal Communications, John Hoben,

All of the tasks for internal communication have been put into a gant chart and several discussions have been held on the list draft repository for best practices in PM.
Our newsletter has been expanded with many articles and interviews and we have newsletter managing issue editors committed until 2017.
Lots of discussion about the website- have to get people to be more specific in what they would like to do and how to fund.

Individual Membership, Mark Reifsteck

There are four individuals on this project team and they have met twice: They include:  Tyson Ortiz, Kathy Boucher Tracey Zervakis and Mark Reifsteck
Goal is to increase to 1,000 members this year. As of Jan 1, 2016 we have 276 members on the books.
key action initiatives:
1. Appeal to every current member to recruit one new member this year. Develop a one-page letter to help with the process that will be emailed to the full member list.
2. Determine how to reach and interest the 1,776 people who have identified themselves with the SPM group on Linked In. Recruit them to become members of SPM.  That group is administered by Ileana Balcu and she has given John Hoben and Mark Reifsteck access.  Goal is to complete this initiative by the end of April.
3. When our members attend events: conferences, meetings and we must arm them with tools to recruit members
4. Membership Retention: We need a strategy for encouraging former members to re-up for membership. We need to examine the value proposition for being a member and develop the collateral messaging associated with that value proposition. We also need a better mechanism for people to volunteer and become more involved.
One possibility: a bi-monthly webinar with new members modeled on a town meeting format.  Will bring that idea to the Executive Committee.

Receptions and Conference Visibility
1. We are sponsoring a cocktail reception at Health Datapalooza in Wash DC.

Announcements:
Danny Sands is representing the Society at the Center for Patient Partnership in Healthcare program of the American College of Physicians.

Executive Committee Notes, Jon Wald
1, CHIME Challenge (College of Health Information Executives)
Adrian Gropper brought forward a proposal for SPM involvement in the Time Challenge by CHIME College of Health Information Executives.  We discussed the need for a process for making a decision or approving a request of this type and making it happen?  Need to develop some guidelines. Joe Ternullo will work on that.
2.Email Identification for all patients
Proposal to have SPM endorse the idea of an email address to be used to identify a patient and make it easy to share health information.
3.Research Library Project with Weil Cornell.
Agreement is now signed between Weil Cornell Medical School and SPM.  We will be participating in the development of an annotated bibliography of references in participatory medicine which will be co-branded with Weil Cornell and SPM. Weil Cornell will host the research library and our members will have access and could contribute to it. SPM will also work with Weil Cornell to develop curricula in participatory health.
