We constantly assume that writing the blogs posts is one of the ways to help shape the dialogue on medicine and healthcare reforms. I suppose that for many participants in this blog it has become a very serious occupation, one that they consider worth the effort, both for the potential of short and longer term impact.

This is all fine, but it assumes one simple fact: the durability of binary aggregates. We are lucky that our blog is hosted by a responsible entity. It could have been otherwise. Just look at this absolute horror story and you’ll see why choosing carefully  where to host your blog and other elements of your digital imprint is so important! There were some warnings but obviously followed by the kind of support people have come to expect from AOL! Before shutting down the service the company provided a link to a guide to move files. The guide is of course located on the discontinued service and therefore terminated! Sounds a lot like our dysfunctional healthcare system.
