My friend Dorron Levy, who lives near Tel Aviv, alerted me to this blog post in Hebrew; Google’s English translation here. It starts with CNN’s Empowered Patient reporter Elizabeth Cohen, and moves on to discuss a recent conference organized by the University of Haifa on the ethics of patients using the internet.
I say, it’s a wonderful thing that the e-patient meme is going global. In addition to the above, I know of conferences already this year in Lucern, Copenhagen, Paris, and Amsterdam (and Jerusalem); later this year Spain will host two events. Any other sightings??
But you’ll find that Israeli health care is coordinated care unlike US health care. It is a semi-public semi-private system between US and UK.
So I’ve heard; but that doesn’t change that it’s great to see participatory thinking going global, does it? (Scratching my head)
