SPM past board member Michael Millenson has an important new commissioned essay in the BMJ spelling out some parameters of collaborative health, which might as well have been written as participatory medicine. Happily, they made it open access so patients can read it – and download the PDF to share with their clinicians!

And health policy people, and hospital management, etc – DO IT!

See also editor-in-chief Fiona Godlee’s accompanying editorial, Are you ready for “collaborative health”?

Thanks to the BMJ for commissioning this important piece, and to Millenson for his decades (literally) of work advocating for what we now call participatory medicine.
