This is the blog of the Society for Participatory Medicine. Since its inception, the Society has been an entirely volunteer organization, the only exception being the Managing Editor of our Journal. While this was generally fine in the early days, we have grown and matured substantially. We now have a well-defined strategic plan, a dozen or more initiatives (with dozens more in the wings), hundreds of members, and financial needs that require a renewed emphasis on corporate membership development and new revenue streams.

Because of this, the board has decided to hire an executive director to complement the energetic volunteers that comprise the Society’s leadership and members that are leading committees and projects.

While initially this will be a part-time position, we envision the executive director becoming the cornerstone of a future professional staff for the organization.
